Therefore, more attention must be paid to the shape design of the alloy steel York connecting rod, the smoothness of the transition, the surface quality of the blank, etc., in order to give full play to the potential of high-quality materials.

Rare earth magnesium nodular cast iron and tough pearlite malleable cast iron are also suitable for manufacturing York connecting rod, but the hardness of cast York connecting rod should be between HB210～250, and the bending fatigue strength should be 300～350N/m2. At present, high-strength titanium alloy is used to cast York connecting rod, which is light in weight and insensitive to stress concentration. For small-load car engines, in order to improve the dimensional accuracy of the York connecting rod, reduce the amount of processing, and reduce the cost, powder metallurgy forging the York connecting rod was started.

When the small end of the York connecting rod adopts a full-floating piston pin structure, the inner hole of the small end of the connecting rod must be pressed into the bushing. The bushing material is cast in tin bronze. In strengthening engines, lead bronze materials with higher strength and good wear resistance are usually used.

The process requirements of the York connecting rod: The macroscopic metallographic structure in the longitudinal section of the York connecting rod requires that the direction of the metal fiber is consistent with the shape of the connecting rod, and the fiber has no distortion or interruption. The York connecting rod forged with steel should be quenched and tempered before machining to obtain high comprehensive mechanical properties, both strong and tough. In order to improve the fatigue strength of York connecting rod, the surface without machining should be shot peened. The York connecting rod must also go through magnetic inspection to ensure reliable work.
